Online Shopping Day 2015, on December 4, is expected to receive 650,000 orders, or four times higher than last year, equal to a total transaction value of approximately $25 million. The number of firms expected to participate in the Shopping Day is around 2,500, or 2.5 times more than last year. The information was announced at the “E-commerce Applications on Mobile: Steps to Success” seminar, held by the Department of E-Commerce and Information Technology under the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT).

According to Mr. Nguyen The Quang, Deputy Director of the Department, the Online Shopping Day 2015 will see breakthrough results. “We expect this year’s event will see a mobile access rate of 40 per cent, up from 28 per cent in 2014,” he said. “The issuance of vouchers for purchases will be made via this channel.”

To find success on Online Shopping Day 2015, enterprises need to pay attention to product quality as well as services such as shipping, consulting, and other customer services. Delivery companies and e-commerce enterprises will cooperate with each other to ensure customer demand for product delivery are met. Orders made on the Online Shopping Day 2015 will have free delivery.

Mr. Nguyen Huy Du, Director of the Vietnam E-commerce Association (VECOM), said he expects the Online Shopping Day 2015 to attract around 5,000 to 8,000 customers.

Online Shopping Day 2015 is being held by the Department of E-Commerce and Information Technology and VECOM. On August 25 the Autumn Online Shopping Day will be held as a warm-up for the December 4 event.
