Inheriting the success of last year’s event, Taiwan Excellence has again joined the Vietnam International Telecommunication Products, Services, Information Technology and Communications (Vietnam ICT COMM 18) exhibition from June 7 to 9 at Ho Chi Minh City’s Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC).

Marking its second presence at one of the most prominent technological events in Vietnam, which has seen considerable growth in terms of both scale and the number of exhibitors compared to the two previous years, Taiwan Excellence expresses its commitment to enhancing the presence of the campaign in Vietnam.

Twenty-two brands in information and communications technology (ICT) will represent Taiwan, the 10th-ranked economy in digital infrastructure development, e-services, and open government data, and the 15th-ranked economy in the global sub-index of innovation and sophistication.

The Taiwan Excellence Pavilion at Vietnam ICT COMM 2018 showcases products and services honored with a “Taiwan Excellence Award”, based on breakthroughs in research and development, manufacture, design, quality and marketing. Twenty-two Taiwanese enterprises have brought excellent and highly-applicable products and services in the manufacture of software, mobile apps, technological solutions, wireless technology, internet services, service management, electronic products and services, and broadcasting equipment and network infrastructure.

Besides familiar names such as Acer, D-Link, Transcend, Aver, Zyxel, Plustek, and uHandy, Vietnam ICT COMM 2018 also marks the first appearance in Vietnam of Taiwanese ICT brands including Boxlight, with school products such as speakers and projectors, Long, with telecommunications and motorcycle batteries, XTGL, with lighting products, and GreenE with nano-textile products.

Mr. James C. F. Huang, Chairman of the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), sees this as an opportunity for Vietnamese people to enhance their life experience through accessing quintessential Taiwanese technology products honored by the Taiwan Excellence Award. “Taiwan is in the process of implementing its ‘Asia Silicon Valley Development Plan’, which aims to establish Taiwan as a hub between the Asian region and Silicon Valley,” he said.

“In other words, Taiwan is to become a global center for tech entrepreneurship. Realizing this ideal, Taiwan Excellence has, for over eight years in Vietnam, deployed and participated in many activities to promote technological breakthroughs and innovation from Taiwan, reaching out to both Vietnamese consumers and businesses. This will continue and be expanded at its second appearance at Vietnam ICT COMM.”

According to a report released by Taiwan’s Ministry of Finance, the country is the world’s leading manufacturer of motherboards, cable CPE, WLAN, notebooks and desktops. The industry has become a major source of Taiwan’s economic growth, contributing 2.3 per cent, and is expected to expand its global IoT market share from 3.8 per cent in 2015 to 5 per cent in 2025.

Following Vietnam ICT COMM 2018, Taiwan Excellence will participate at Taiwan Expo, organized by TAITRA, from July 26 to 28.
