Dairy cattle raising to begin next year in three-phase project from 2015-2025.
On October 22 the TH Group signed a corporation contract with the Russian capital of Moscow to raise a herd of cattle of the same size as its herd in Nghia Dan district in northern Nghe An province.
The project has investment of $2.7 billion and will be completed in three phases from 2015 to 2025. Once completed the herd will number 350,000, with total production of 5,900 tons of milk per day, or 1.8 million liters per year. Total land for the project is some 140,000 ha, with the first milk expected to be available in the middle of 2017.
This is the largest Vietnamese agriculture project in Russia.
At the signing ceremony Ms. Thai Huong, Chairman of TH Group, said it has completed preparing breeding cows with high productivity from the US for transport to Russia. In November Moscow will complete procedures to assign land next year for the project.
She also said that the support from Moscow authorities will bring much profit for the TH Group, using updated technology to produce milk, vegetables, and medicinal materials in Russia.
