South Korean project brings to three in industry granted licenses by province in recent times.
The Thanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee has approved a proposal from South Korea’s Kyung Apparel Co. to build the In Kyung Vina Garment Factory Co.
The garment factory is located in Dong Ninh commune in Dong Son district and has total investment amount of $5.1 million and is 100 per cent foreign owned. It has a capacity of 11 million products per year and is expected to create 1,400 jobs jobs.
It will be the third industrial sewing project from South Korea licensed in the province since mid-2014. In July last year Thanh Hoa issued an investment license to S&H Vina Co. to build the S&H Garment Factory in Thanh Tam commune, Thach Thanh district. The project had $20 million in investment, a capacity of 15 million products per year, and will create a total of 5,000 to 6,000 jobs. In October it also licensed the Viet Pan - Pacific Thanh Hoa Co. to invest in the Viet Pan - Pacific Thanh Hoa Garment Factory in Ngoc Lac commune, Ngoc Lac district. It had total investment of over $8.5 million, a capacity of 6 million products per year, and will create about 1,330 jobs.
In recent years Thanh Hoa has licensed many garment projects, both domestic and foreign. Most were built in areas with convenient transport networks and abundant labor resources.
