Toyota Motor Vietnam (TMV) has held a ceremony to present 29 Tet gifts of VND500,000 each, including 27 to war invalid families and two to the Elderly People’s Association of Phuc Thang ward, in Phuc Yen town, Vinh Phuc province, in the hall of the Phuc Thang People’s Committee.

This is one of many activities organized annually since 1997 and is part of TMV’s contribution to the local community. “It’s a good tradition of TMV to show its responsibility and care to war invalid families in Phuc Thang ward, especially on the occasion of the New Year,” said TMV Vice President Ms. Doan Thi Yen. “These small gifts are our heartfelt best wishes for a warm and happy Tet. We will continue to try to contribute more to the local community and Vietnamese society for the country’s sustainable development.”

In its 20 years of development TMV has unceasingly attached great importance to social contributions and charitable activities in general and those in Vinh Phuc province in particular. It has implemented many other activities to support, improve and develop the community in local areas, such as building and granting houses to war invalid families, helping a Vietnamese heroic mother, supporting families in difficulties, making outdoor toys and teaching support equipment for local kindergartens, and building schools for poor children, among others.

With the philosophy of “Being a good citizen for harmonious development in the local community”, TMV has actively implemented social activities in various fields such as traffic safety, environmental protection, education and training, and culture and society. It has contributed more than $19 million for social contributions and over $4 billion to the State budget. TMV has always taken a leading position in Vietnam’s automobile market, with sales results of 41,205 units in 2014 - a record result up nearly 24 per cent compared with 2013 and increasing its accumulated sales to 305,775 units (both Lexus and Toyota) as at 2014.
