Vietnam Economic Times last week organized the “Vietnam Consumer Forum” and a ceremony announcing 100 products and services consumers voted on in The Vietnam Trust & Use Awards 2019.

This year’s program had the theme “Customer experience - Differentiation to compete”. The evaluation and voting criteria focused on products and services that provide customers with good experiences and positive emotions and are favored and appreciated; products and services focusing on the connection between brand and customers; and business brands with products and services that interact and secure customers’ trust through tech platforms.

Building and managing a customer experience strategy is a trend helping improve the competitiveness of brands, products and services. Some figures show that 85 per cent of managers say a difference in prices, products, and services is no longer an outstanding competitive strategy of a business, but customer experience is a strategy that does make a difference.

The customer experience is understood as a set of customer touch points for a brand, the value that customers feel from the business. This is not a new concept for businesspeople in Vietnam, however, and along with development towards an increasingly professional way of branding and the impact of Industry 4.0, optimizing the customer experience is now paid more attention than ever.

Within the framework of the ceremony, a seminar was held with the theme “Customer experience - Differentiation to compete”, with panelists including Mr. Nguyen Duong, a Specialist in Strategic Customer Experience Development, Ms. Linh Tong, CEO of The Yen Concept, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Huy from Grab Vietnam, Mr. Nguyen Hai Duc, General Director of GamaLift, Mr. Nguyen Duy Nhu, General Director of Tue Linh Pharmaceutical, and a representative from the TH Group.

“Customers always want to find and use the best quality products,” said Mr. Nguyen The Hao, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Vietnam Economic Times. “Therefore, if businesses know how to apply methods to attract customers and make them feel comfortable and safe throughout the use of services, that can be leveraged to create a positive customer experience. A customer who has experienced the best of something will tend to use it for a long time and will become a loyal customer of that brand.”

Consumer representatives said that selecting a quality product is not too difficult in today’s market. But consumers now want more. They want a clear visualization of the product. They want to know what the product will bring to them. To keep up with such trends, businesses need to provide more experiences instead of just offering a product.

The Vietnam Trust & Use Awards 2019 honored 100 excellent product and service brands recognized during a ten-month survey. Within the ceremony announcing the 100 local products and services, brands also had the opportunity to reach out to partners, customers, and the market.

The program also honored the Top 10 enterprises: BIDV, Samsung, Mobile World, Grab, Lock & Lock, FPT Shop, VNPost, Masan, TH True Milk, and Vincommerce.
