October was a good month for sales at Toyota Motor Vietnam
Toyota Motor Vietnam (TMV) announced that sales in October reached 4,145 units, an increase of 29 per cent compared to the same month last year and 11 per cent compared with September.
In the first ten months total sales stood at 31,919 units, increasing 20 per cent against the same period in 2013. Sales of passenger cars were 2,297 units, up 65 per cent compared to the same month last year. Taking the leading position in sales was the all-new Vios, with 941 units, nearly double the sales in October last year and increasing 23 per cent against September.
Meanwhile, sales of commercial vehicles reached 1,848 units. In the leading position was the Fortuner, with 826 units, and the Innova, with 698 units, accounting for 45 per cent and 38 per cent, respectively.
There was also growth in sales of completely-built-units (CBU) imported and distributed by TMV. Ninety-nine Land Cruiser Prado were sold, up 183 per cent, 56 Hiace, up 93 per cent, and 30 Land Cruiser, an increase of 50 per cent compared with same month last year. The all-new Yaris 2014 continued to be popular, with 187 units delivered to customers in October. After some three months on the market, cumulative sales of the Yaris 2014 stood at 1,095.
