Sales rise 33% year-on-year, to 3,990 units.
Sales of Toyota motor vehicles reached 3,990 units in April, an increase of 33 per cent, or 989 units, compared to April 2014.
The northern region purchased the highest number, with 1,834 units and accounting for 46 per cent of total sale, while the central region saw the lowest purchases, of 537 units or 13 per cent. Sales in the south were 1,619 units, or 41 per cent.
Sales of passenger cars stood at 2,080 units, 41.5 per cent higher than in last April.
The all-new Vios held on to its leading position in sales volume, with 1,009 units, increasing 49 per cent year-on-year. A year after rolling out in March 2014 the all-new Vios has accumulated sales of more than 13,000 units. The new Corolla Altis, with its innovative, youthful and sporty design, continued to receive love from customers, with 611 units sold, an increase of 57 per cent compared with April last year.
Launched on April 24, the new Camry 2015 has been well received by customers for its elegant design and advanced performance, with a new 6AR - FSE 2.0L engine and VVTi-W technology, which are the outstanding features of the new Camry. In the ten days since it first became available 274 units have been sold and delivered to customers, while around 500 customers have signed contracts and are waiting for delivery.
In the commercial vehicles segment, sales totaled 1,910 units, 25 per cent higher year-on-year. The Innova and Fortuner continued to exceed targets thanks to high demand for car rentals during the April 30 and May 1 holiday, with the sales volume reaching 802 units and 868 units, respectively, increasing 25 per cent and 26 per cent compared with April last year.
Of the completely-built-up (CBU) vehicles imported and distributed by Toyota Motor Vietnam, the all-new Yaris 2014 held its leading position with sales of 186 units. Other CBU models such as the Hilux totaled 133 units, the Hiace 39 units, the Prado 50 units, and the Land Cruiser 18 units.
