CBU imports up 58% year-on-year in month as overall growth reaches 14%.
Toyota Motor Vietnam (TMV) has announced sales of 4,537 units in April, an increase of nearly 14 per cent, or 547 units, compared to April 2015.
It also welcomed the 350,000th motor vehicle rolling off the production line at its plant in April.
Sales of passenger cars reached 2,116 units in the month, an increase of 2 per cent year-on-year, with the Vios holding its leading position in the segment with 1,195 units sold followed by the Camry with 410 units.
In commercial vehicles, sales in April reached 2,421 units, nearly 27 per cent higher year-on-year. The MPV Innova recorded sales of 1,088 car units, maintaining its leading position in the market, with the Fortuner recording sales of 863 units.
Almost all completely-built-unit (CBU) vehicles imported and distributed by TMV in April saw good growth, with total sales reaching 675 car units, an increase of 58 per cent year-on-year. The Yaris held its leading position, with 205 units, followed by the Hilux with 181 units, the Land Prado with 121 units, the Land Cruiser with 100 units, and the Hiace with 68 units.
