Despite recently considering a halt in production, sales figures have been impressive.
Toyota Motor Vietnam (TMV) has ended the first quarter of 2015 with 10,872 units delivered to customers, up 46.4 per cent year on year.
"This is an impressive result showing that Vietnamese customers trust and love the Toyota brand," said a TVM representative. Impressive sales volume of Vios, Corolla Altis, Fortuner, and Innova, up 239.2 per cent, 77.6 per cent, 21.5 per cent and 11.7 per cent respectively against the first quarter last year, have contributed greatly to this positive growth.
In March 2015, the sales volume of Toyota vehicles reached 3,742 units, up 38 per cent compared to the same month last year. Of this number, the north purchased 1,828 units (49 per cent), the central regions accounted for 465 units (12 per cent), and the south contributed 1,449 units (39 per cent).
Previously, during a TMV fiscal year 2014 meeting, it considered putting a stop to all production and assembly in the country due to the obstacles facing automobile manufacturers in Vietnam.
