Forum brings together enterprises from a range of fields to nurture relations.
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) - Vietnam Enterprise Forum 2016 was held on May 11 in Hanoi on the occasion of the UAE’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, visiting Vietnam on May 10 and 11.
The UAE has huge potential in investment capital and goods and services as Dubai is one of the largest gateways in cargo transshipment.
The forum presented opportunities for enterprises from the countries to link together and establish relations.
Twenty officials from the UAE and 20 enterprises from 12 of its major groups joined 80 Vietnamese businesspeople from 50 enterprises at the forum, with attendees coming from fields such as petroleum, real estate, minerals, fire protection equipment, supermarkets, seafood, and agriculture.
A representative from NAFFCO, the largest group in the UAE in fire protection equipment, said that Vietnam is developing quickly and the group views the country has having significant potential.
The UAE is Vietnam’s seventh-largest export and the most important in the Middle East.
Vietnam and the UAE have targeted trade turnover of $7 billion this year.
