New apps allows customers to provide measurements electronically rather than having to visit a tailor.
UKYS, a well-seasoned international custom-tailoring company, has launched an app that will forever change the way men buy tailored shirts.
The app makes it simple and free to take measurements from home using only an iPhone or iPad camera.
“It’s time for all men to experience what fitted clothing does for your outward appearance and your inner confidence,” Ms. Pauline Tran, UKYS Co-Founder and CEO, told VET. “The cost of custom-made menswear is often prohibitive and visiting a tailor comes along with tons of hassles. These drawbacks were the inspiration behind the UKYS app, which takes your full measurements using the iPhone’s built-in camera, and lets you order a custom shirt in less than five minutes. The app finally makes it possible for men everywhere to be able to dress their best.”
It only takes a few minutes for customers to complete the five-step guided measurement process, then the app uploads all of the information into the UKYS system and their LIM (Less Is More) Technology converts the data into a remarkably accurate 3D model from which the customer’s body measurements are taken, thus saving time and money that would have otherwise been spent on visiting a tailor.
There’s even a built-in face censoring function to assuage any privacy concerns. The final product is a luxury bespoke dress shirt delivered directly to the client’s doorstep.
All shirts are crafted with the finest attention to detail, including removable collar stays, reinforced side seams, and mother of pearl buttons.
These elegant custom-tailored shirts are made with nothing but top-of-the-line materials like Oeko-Tex Certified fabrics, for example. They are also fully customizable. With the intuitive user interface on the UKYS app customers can select the fabric color that fits their style as well as the type of collar, cuff, trim and more. There are millions of possible combinations.
UKYS, a family business, is a recognized leader when it comes to suit tailoring. They have over 15 years of experience in the tailoring business and have clients around the world. This fashion-meets-technology app is the brainchild of Pauline Tran and Lam Nguyen. Together they have a unique combination of experience in both the IT sector and in tailoring. The app has been in development for over a year after extensive testing and can now be downloaded from the Apple Store.
Customers will receive the first batch of custom-tailored shirts measured with the UKYS app in October.
As a way to collect orders for the first batch of bespoke dress shirts measured entirely by the UKYS app, Pauline and Lam are launching an Indiegogo campaign. During the campaign the custom tailored shirts can be ordered with offers of up to 23 per cent off the retail price. The campaign runs until July 31.
