Popular carrier will make changes under new Circular on January 1, not December 1.
The fast-growing carrier Vietjet Air will continue with its final check-in time of 30 minutes before departure until January 1, in an effort to support its customers.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) last week issued Circular No. 36/2014, requiring all airlines make the final check-in time 40 minutes before the departure of domestic flights and 45 minutes, down from 60 minutes, before international flights take off. Times were to be changed from December 1.
The new Circular also requires check-in counters open two hours before departure for domestic flights and three hours for international flights. Boarding gates are to close 15 minutes prior to departure.
Vietjet Air is the first privately-owned airline in Vietnam. With a fleet of 18 Airbus A320 aircraft it now operates 150 flights a day, transporting 8 million passengers to date. The airline covers 28 local and international routes around the country and to Singapore, Thailand, South Korea, Taiwan, and Cambodia.
