Carrier launches ThaiVietjet to expand network.
Vietjet Air has received an Aircraft Operator Certificate (AOC) to operate ThaiVietjet, expanding its flight network connecting Thailand and other regional destinations in the near future.
According to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hung, Chairman of the Board of ThaiVietjet, the airline was born out of a desire to offer wonderful flying experiences at the best fares ever. “With a modern fleet of brand new aircraft, our professional and friendly flight crew, as well as our innovative and creative in-flight activities, I believe ThaiVietjet will soon become one of the most popular airlines in Thailand and across the region,” he said. “We vow to earn our popularity by showing our utmost respect to and care for our valued customers.”
At a ceremony attended by the Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, Thailand’s Minister of Tourism, and many other distinguished guests, leaders of both countries lauded the establishment of ThaiVietjet, which will bring bilateral diplomatic and commercial relations between Thailand and Vietnam to a new high.
Nearly 10 million passengers have already flown with Vietjet in Vietnam and throughout the region over the last three years. By launching the joint venture Vietjet has taken its first step towards conquering new international markets.
Vietjet previously announced it would relocate international departures from Terminal 1 (T1) to the new Terminal (T2) at Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi. The first flight to depart from the new terminal will be on Christmas Day, when flight VJ901 departs Hanoi for Bangkok at 1.10pm. Passengers should also note that check-in counters will open at 10.10am. As of 4am on December 31, 2014, all international flights operated by Vietjet will leave from T2.
