Vietnam's fastest growing airline, Vietjet Air, today officially announced the opening of a new route linking Taipei and Ho Chi Minh City.
Vietjet Air’s will commence a new Taipei - Ho Chi Minh City route on December 12 with round trips every day except for Thursdays and Saturdays, for a weekly capacity of 1,800 seats. Flight time is 3 hours and 25 minutes, departing Ho Chi Minh City at 2.30pm (local time) and arriving in Taipei at 6.55pm (local time), with return flights departing Taipei at 8pm (local time) and landing in Ho Chi Minh City at 10.25pm (local time).
“For the Vietnamese diaspora in Taiwan and the Taiwanese community in Vietnam, the opening of this flight will help families and friends maintain close relationships,” said Mr. Desmond Lin, Business Development Manager at Vietjet Air. “The new route will also boost bilateral ties between Vietnam and Taiwan in terms of tourism, business and cultural exchange.”
Representatives of Vietjet Air also revealed the airline is planning to add routes linking other destinations in Taiwan, such as Kaoshiung and Taichung, with Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi in the near future. As a dynamic low-cost carrier, the airline will be in a position to offer people from both destinations and tourists more flying opportunities at the lowest possible fares.
