National flag carrier starts flights on Hanoi - Paris route with new wide-body aircraft.
Vietnam Airlines officially put its new generation Airbus A350-900 XWB into operation on September 30, flying the Hanoi - Paris route.
Flight VN19 is expected to land in the French capital at 7am on October 1, local time.
“With the introduction of the A350-900 on international routes and our four-star standard service, we hope to bring passengers a comfortable and relaxing experience on the long haul flight,” said Mr. Trinh Ngoc Thanh, Deputy General Director of Vietnam Airlines.
The national flag carrier operates 12-13 return flights to Paris each week, including 6-7 to and from Hanoi.
To mark the first A350-900 XWB flight it is presenting special gifts to passengers on the first six flights.
Vietnam Airlines will also put an A350-900 XWB into operation on routes from Hanoi to Seoul, starting on October 1.
Vietnam Airlines is the first Asian airline and only the second in the world to fly the A350 XWB. This is the first of 14 A350 XWBs Vietnam Airlines has ordered to 2019, of which ten are being purchased from Airbus and four are being leased. The national flag carrier will operate its A350 XWB fleet on premium long-haul routes, beginning with services between Hanoi and Paris.
The A350 XWB is the latest addition to the market-leading Airbus’s wide-body family. It sets new standards in terms of flight experience for passengers, operational efficiency, and cost-effectiveness for airlines. As at the end of February the A350 XWB had won 780 firm orders from 40 customers worldwide.
