Dairy giant Vinamilk has again topped a list on brand value from Forbes Vietnam magazine, with $2.28 billion.

This is the third time it has topped the Forbes Vietnam list, with its brand value accounting for nearly 30 per cent of the total of the 40 companies on the list, up 30 percentage points from its brand value in 2017 and 50 percentage points from 2016.

Such increases in Vinamilk’s brand value reflect the company’s sustainable strategy, with continual innovations and efforts made to maintain its position as the No. 1 dairy producer in Vietnam. Last April it was the country’s only producer of fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) to make Nikkei Asia Review’s list of the 300 top companies in Asia for the third year in a row and in May was named Vietnam’s most chosen brand by Kantar Worldpanel.

This latest list is the third from Forbes Vietnam of the 40 most valuable brands in the country, with total brand value standing at nearly $8.1 billion. Of the 40 companies, consumer goods producers again accounted for most but finance and banking institutions narrowed the gap as more banks are being listed on the stock market.

The State-owned Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) took over third position from Vingroup, Vietnam’s largest real estate company, with Viettel second. With a value of $416 million, VNPT made it onto the list for the first time. Other brands in the Top 10 were the country’s biggest brewery, Sabeco ($393 million), Vinhomes, the residential property arm of Vingroup ($384 million), Vinaphone, one of Vietnam’s big three mobile operators and under VNPT ($308 million), Vingroup ($307.2 million), food and beverages producer Masan Consumer ($238 million), Vietcombank ($177.9 million), and tech giant FPT ($169 million).
