Greenhouse uses Israeli technology and will supply hygienic vegetables to Vinmart and Vinmart+ supermarkets.
VinEco, a food supply company under Vingroup, began construction of a 24.5 ha greenhouse in northern Vinh Phuc province on August 28 with investment of VND1 trillion ($44.2 million). The greenhouse will use Israeli technology and is the largest in Vietnam.
Upon completion it will supply 3,500 tonnes of hygienic fresh vegetables each year that meet VietGAP hygiene standards and other global standards.
Construction will finish in the fourth quarter and supply fresh food to customers via Vingroup’s Vinmart and Vinmart+ supermarket chains.
This is VinEco’s second greenhouse, after its first in Ho Chi Minh City’s Cu Chi district. The new greenhouse is a major step forward in large-scale investment in agriculture by Vingroup. VinEco plans to change the growing methods of Vietnamese people to ensure a healthy agriculture sector in the future.
Teshuva Agricultural Projects (TAP) is the Israeli partner of VinEco in the project. It is the only company with Microgreen technology, which produces hygienic sprouts. This will be the first time TAP has supplied greenhouse technology to Vietnamese partners.
