Giant makes new move in retail with opening of outlets selling a range of different goods.
Vingroup has recently launched a new retail model with specialized store chains. Invested and operated by the VinDS Trading and Services Co., the model includes BeautyZone, Sportsworld, ShoeCenter, and Fashion Megastore.
“This retail model, a new direction for Vingroup’s business, is expected to bring luxury products to Vietnamese consumers and help support Vietnamese brands in reaching local consumers,” said Mr. Munish Rishi, CEO of VinDS.
Starting with a chain of stores opening in July at Vincom Can Tho in the Mekong Delta, VinDS is expected to open 74 more stores over the next year and 300 more nationwide over the next three years. The chains will be of international standard and target Vietnamese consumers.
BeautyZone specializes in healthcare products, cosmetics, makeup, and skin and body care products. It will sell mid and high-end brands such as Clarins, L’Occitane, Kose, Kanebo, Laneige, Yves Rocher, Vichy, and others, as well as the exclusive Dutch Mades brand.
ShoeCenter is set to become a major footwear chain in the country. Each store has an area of 600 - 1,000 sq m and will sell men’s, women’s and children’s shoes, with more than 25 international and local brands available. VinDS has also designed shoes under the Top Toe brand.
With famous sporting brands such as Nike, Adidas, Aero Sport, and others, Sportsworld will provide clothing and shoes for jogging, tennis, basketball, and other sports, as well as fitness machines and other accessories, with a separate area for football.
VinDS also launched the fashion store chain Fashion Megastore, with each outlet on an area 2,500 - 5,000 sq m. Successful and high-end fashion brands from around will be sold, as well as locally-made items.
The move affirms Vingroup’s determination to develop and strengthen its retail sector after previously opening other retail chains such as VinMart, VinMart +, and Vinpro.
