First safari park in Vietnam home to more than 3,000 animals.
Vingroup has officially opened the Vinpearl Safari wildlife conservation park on Phu Quoc Island off the coast of the Mekong Delta’s Kien Giang province. The opening was part of activities held to celebrate the 2016 National Tourism Year-Phu Quoc-Mekong Delta, hosted by Kien Giang province.
Vinpearl Safari, the first-ever safari park in Vietnam, covers nearly 500 ha in total, with the first phase of 380 ha consisting of a safari park and an open zoo.
It currently houses more than 3,000 indigenous and foreign animals in 150 species, including African zebras, camels, antelopes, Bengali tigers, African lions, and black-and-white ruffed lemurs. More rare animals will be added to the zoo in the near future.
Vinpearl Safari also includes the largest veterinary hospital in Southeast Asia, staffed by leading veterinary experts and providing wildlife care from South Africa, Australia, and India.
Vingroup aims to turn the park into the second largest zoo in the world, creating the best space possible for the animals as well as improving awareness about wildlife conservation and helping to develop nature tourism on the island.
