Set to expand

VietJet Air and GE Capital Aviation Services (GECAS) have inked an aircraft sale-leaseback agreement for two Airbus A320 aircraft.

Both of these aircraft are part of the order that VietJet Air made with Airbus in February this year for 100 Airbus aircraft to be delivered from 2014 to 2018. This purchase agreement has made great progress with BNP Paribas (France) acting as a financial adviser to VietJet Air. With this agreement in place, Airbus will deliver the next two Airbus A320 aircraft to VietJet Air in November and December later this year, enabling the carrier to advance its expansion plan accordingly. Currently one of the fastest growing airlines in Asia, VietJet Air recently added two more direct international routes connecting Da Nang and Hanoi to Incheon International airport (Seoul) in South Korea. The airline also operates an extensive domestic network as well as direct flights from Ho Chi Minh City to Bangkok and Singapore.
