The Benthanh Group has made continual efforts to innovate and develop its business as well as its corporate culture to prepare for new opportunities and elevate its brand.
Member companies have focused on new investments and business expansion.
In 2015 the Saigon General Service Corporation (Savico) opened three new car dealerships in Ho Chi Minh City, Can Tho city, and Binh Duong province. The Hino Vinh Thinh dealership celebrated its grand opening last December in Binh Duong’s Thuan An town.
In tourism, the Benthanh TSC (Ben Thanh Trading & Service JSC) renovated and upgraded the building at 186-188 Le Thanh Ton Street in Ho Chi Minh City’s District 1 into the three-star, 93-room Avanti hotel, which celebrated its grand opening on January 21.
Benthanh Tourist’s new four-star Silverland Benthanh hotel, at 4-6-8 Ho Huan Nghiep Street in District 1, has been under construction and will officially open in the second quarter of this year. The Sandy Beach Da Nang Resort also received investment to become a new 102-room hotel and has quickly provided other services.
Developing corporate culture
In 2015 the Benthanh Group and its member companies received the “HCMC Typical Enterprises” award from the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Business Associations and the “Top 10 Strong Vietnamese Brand” award from the Ministry of Industry and Trade and VnEconomy. Two member companies received a “2015 Excellent Emulation Flag” due to their excellent achievements in different sectors, while 13 member companies were awarded a “Certificate of Merit” from the Ho Chi Minh City’s People’s Committee and 31 member companies received an “Excellent Labor Collective” award from the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee.
The Benthanh Group has continuously engaged in many community activities, including Dynamic 2015, the Luong Van Can scholarship, and the Amcham scholarship selection to support member companies in attracting qualified human resources. It also hosted workshops on the TPP and FTAs to connect with and update member companies on the changing market landscape.
Its corporate social responsibility activities included contributing the equivalent of one-day’s salary of all staff, totaling $38,000, and 200 gifts for the Tet holiday to the poor, building houses of charity, supporting staff suffering from poverty or incurable diseases, and taking care of ethnic minorities and officials protecting islands, with an amount exceeding $355,000.
Business strategy 2016-2020
With the goal of equitization, Benthanh Group is concentrating on investing in core areas and establishing partnerships with strong domestic and overseas firms.
The Benthanh Group is implementing technology via ISO 9001:2015 quality management systems and management support software and conducting energy saving efforts at seven member companies to increase asset and resource efficiency as well as productivity and competitiveness.
