Azerbaijan hopeful that latest ceasefire will hold, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Vietnam tells local media.
The Embassy of Azerbaijan in Vietnam has held a series of press conferences to keep the media updated on the Armenia - Azerbaijan Nagorno - Karabakh conflict.
According to Azerbaijani Ambassador to Vietnam, H.E. Anar Imanov, it will continue to seek measures to end the conflict in a peaceful manner.
“Intermediary agencies have begun to appear in conflict areas in order to carry out the negotiation process,” the Ambassador said. “A ceasefire was agreed to and we hope this will be maintained in the long term.”
A previous ceasefire was violated from April 2 to 5, resulting in major loss of life. The new ceasefire came into being on April 6 but gunshots can still be heard in the region.
Vietnamese and international delegates present at the conference all emphasized the observance of international law and usage of diplomatic tools to resolve the conflict peacefully.
