$62.2 million project expected to be completed by 2020 and serve 10,000 residents.
The Kien Giang Consulting, Investment and Construction JSC (CIC) recently held a breaking ground ceremony for the Northwest Rach Gia Sea-Encroached Urban Area in the Mekong Delta’s Rach Gia city, Kien Giang province. Covering an area of 100 hectares the project has investment capital of VND1.34 trillion ($62.2 million) is expected to serve approximately 10,000 residents.
The project comprises office buildings, shopping malls, a seaside green space, squares, and tourism services, among others. About 60 per cent of the project’s land is for infrastructure and social facilities, to provide high-quality living to the urban area’s citizens. All are expected to be completed by 2020.
The construction works will bring major financial benefit to Rach Gia city and meet increasing tourism demand. They will also have significant influence on economic development in surrounding areas and are in conformity with the overall architectural plan for Rach Gia city as a whole.
With a triangular waterway system, Rach Gia city is considered a transport gateway and economic, politic and cultural center of Kien Giang province. The city is undertaking encroachment projects to establish a commercial and service center and a new urban area in the province.
