Arrears of $13.6 million owed by 21 enterprises in the city.
The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Taxation has released a list of 21 companies with long-standing tax arrears totaling VND297.8 billion ($13.6 million), eight of which are in construction and real estate.
The Lam Vien Construction and Investment JSC in District 3 owes the most, at VND102.1 billion ($5.6 million), followed by the Industrial and Civilian Construction Company with VND32.2 billion ($1.47 million). Others on the list include the Tan Hoang Thang JSC, the Engineering Construction And Mechanics Company No. 623, and the Work Construction Company No. 518.
According to the Department these companies have continued to evade taxes for a long time despite the it adopting coercive measures. It will continue to publicly name other companies if they do not meet their tax obligations.
The Hanoi Department of Taxation released a list of 23 companies with tax arrears totaling VND1.2 trillion ($56.5 million) as at May 31 a few days ago. Most were also in construction and real estate.
