Teams to ensure construction schedule of projects and legal compliance by investors.
The Hanoi People’s Committee has issued a decision on establishing an inspection team to monitor the legal compliance of investors when they implement and manage social housing projects in the capital.
According to Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Tuan, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee, the establishment of the inspection team is contained in Decision No. 1715. They will consist of 15 members who are representatives of the Departments of Construction, Planning and Investment, and Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, as well as the Hanoi Fatherland Front, and will be led by Mr. Nguyen Chi Dung, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Construction.
The team will conduct six tasks within their inspections, including checks on schedules and procedures and project quality, checks on those who purchase or lease social housing, checks on procedures for the purchase and lease of social housing, checks on the use of purchased or leased social housing, checks on the operational management of social housing, and checks on prices when investors sell or lease social housing.
Mr. Tuan also said that the teams would build specific inspection regimes for submission to the People’s Committee and investors. “When violations are found the inspection team will inform authorities, which will deal with them under the law,” Mr. Tuan was quoted as saying.
Hanoi now has 66 social housing projects on a total of 5.017 million sq m. Forty-four are for low-income earners, ten for students, and 12 for workers. All aim to meet the minimum living standards of low-income earners in the capital.
