Recreational center with casino would bolster attraction of investors and tourists alike.
The Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee has recently submitted a written proposal to the government regarding the building of a recreational center with a casino at the Northern Cam Ranh Peninsula Tourism Area in Cam Lam district. “The recreational center would become an attractive destination for tourists as well as for local and foreign investors if it was approved,” the proposal stated.
On an area of 31 ha, the project will be located by Thuy Trieu Lagoon and connected to the mainland via two bridges. Vietnam's most popular beach destination, Nha Trang, is just a 30-minute drive away.
It comprises a five-star hotel with a casino on 37,000 sq m, which is considered the highlight of the project, together with villas and resorts, an 18,000 sq m marina, green spaces, and other facilities.
The proposal is based on recommendations from the Hung Thinh Real Estate Business Investment Corporation. The project is viewed as being a perfect fit with the overall socio-economic development planning for Khanh Hoa province to 2020, approved by the Prime Minister.
The race to build and open casinos in Vietnam is expected to become livelier in the time to come, as a draft decree submitted to the government by the Ministry of Finance last year proposed that Vietnamese citizens, under certain conditions, be allowed to gamble in domestic casinos.
