Construction gets underway on the Phong Dien Viglacera Industrial Park.
The Viglacera Corporation held a breaking ground ceremony on September 28 for the Phong Dien Viglacera Industrial Park in central Thua Thien Hue province.
The IP covers an area of 284 ha in Phong Hoa commune, Phong Dien district, and has total investment capital of VND681 billion ($30.3 million).
It will be a mixed use IP for high-tech industries, including electricity, electronics, and information technology, as well as agro-forestry and fisheries processing, food and beverages, textiles, building materials, mining, and mineral processing.
Speaking at the breaking ground ceremony, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Van Cao said the project will be a breakthrough in attracting investment and boosting industrial and economic growth in the province. Local authorities have also committed to creating the conditions necessary for investors to complete the project on schedule.
Thua Thien Hue now has six IPs approved by the Prime Minister within the plan for provincial socioeconomic development in 2015 and orientations toward 2020, on a total area of 2,468 ha.
