Positive signs in the market and confidence among homebuyers behind estimates of 14,000 transactions from January to June.
The Housing and Real Estate Market Management Department under the Ministry of Construction estimates there will have been 14,000 successful real estate transactions around the country during the first half of the year.
The estimate is based on positive signs in the property market so far this year and restored confidence among homebuyers.
Hanoi saw some 1,650 successful transactions in May, up 5 per cent compared with April and is expected to see 1,750 this month.
The capital should therefore record around 7,500 successful transactions in the first half, a 2.5-fold increase against the first half of 2014. A number of apartment projects are being built quickly, such as Goldmark City and the Trang An Complex, and are gaining interest among potential buyers.
In Ho Chi Minh City, meanwhile, there were more than 1,600 successful transactions in May, nearly 6 per cent higher than in April. June numbers are estimated at 1,700. If such estimates are accurate then transactions in the first half should reach 7,050, for a 2.8-fold increase year-on-year.
The villa and townhouse segment in the southern city has been growing strongly over recent months compared to last year. High numbers of successful transactions are most often found at projects with good infrastructure and convenient transport links.
