Local authorities hope project will attract international guests and create jobs for local people.
The Quang Binh Provincial People’s Committee has submitted a plan to the government on the construction of a complex with ten golf courses.
The courses are expected to be built along the coast from Dong Hoi city to Quang Ninh and Dong Hoi districts in the central province, with a total area of 1,000 ha, according to the Chairman on the People’s Committee, Mr. Truong An Ninh.
The complex also contains a resort and other tourism infrastructure. Average investment capital for each hole on the courses is $1 million. The plan has already been approved by the Quang Binh Department of Construction.
“We expect to attract a number of high-class international tourists to Quang Binh and expect the project will provide employment for thousands of local workers,” Mr. Ninh said.
Quang Binh province has provided 3,000 ha of sand dunes to the FLC Group to develop the project.
Besides the golf complex, Quang Binh is also determined to build a cable car line to Son Doong Cave, the world’s largest. Construction of a cable car line in Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park is now underway.
