High school graduation and university entrance exams now combined to ease burden on students and families alike.
More than a million students registered for the national high school graduation and university entrance exams in the country this morning.
The exams will be held over four days, from July 1 to 4, in 103 areas throughout the country.

From this year students need take just one national exam instead of separate high school graduation and university entrance exams, as previously.
Students will be tested in four subjects, comprising the three compulsory subjects of mathematics, literature, and a foreign language, and an optional subject, of physics, chemistry, biology, history, or geography.
Students can also take extra tests in other subjects to better their chances of admission to university.
The huge number of students attending the exams created traffic jams in some streets of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
The single exam is considered a breakthrough in easing the pressure and cost for society come exam time. According to the Ministry of Education and Training 1,004,480 candidates will sit the exam.
