Acecook Vietnam signed a one-year contract with the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) on April 2 to become an official partner of Vietnam’s national football teams.

It will sponsor the men’s and women’s national teams and the U/23 men’s team from the beginning of April for an undisclosed sum.

“The national football team will soon play in major arenas in the region and the world,” said Mr. Le Hoai Anh, General Secretary of the VFF. “The national men’s team will play in the VCK Asian Cup 2019 finals and were unbeaten in the qualifying rounds, and will also play in the AFF Suzuki Cup 2018.”

“The women’s national team, meanwhile, is involved in the qualifying rounds for the Asian Women’s Football Championship 2018 and aims to compete in the World Cup 2019. At the same time, the national men’s U/23 team is preparing for the Asiad 2018, which follows on from its great performance in the recent Asia Cup. The cost of training the national teams is high, and we appreciate all the support we can get.”

He added that the teams will receive support in diet and training with the sponsorship from Acecook Vietnam.

“We encourage spirit and wish to help the football teams compete in the international arena,” said Mr. Kajiwara Junichi, General Director of Acecook Vietnam. “We hope the sponsorship will achieve a great deal.”

For the first time in the country’s history, three Vietnamese football teams have qualified for the finals of Asian championships: the men’s and women’s national team and the U/23 men’s team.

The VFF plans to spend some VND70 billion ($3.1 million) on training and competition this year to help showcase Vietnam’s football talent.
