CapitaLand Vietnam has organized the “CapitaLand Volunteer Day” with the participation of more than 1,000 students from three CapitaLand Hope Schools in northern Phu Tho and Hung Yen provinces and the Mekong Delta’s Long An province.

The program kicked off on October 17 at CapitaLand Nang Yen Primary Hope School in Phu Tho, followed by CapitaLand Le Xa Kindergarten in Hung Yen on October 18 and then CapitaLand Thanh Phuoc Primary Hope School in Long An on October 25.

With the support of CapitaLand’s philanthropic arm, the CapitaLand Hope Foundation, the program helped more than 1,000 students aged 2-11 with necessities such as schoolbags, notebooks, learning tools, and toys.

This is the fourth year CapitaLand Vietnam has held the “CapitaLand Volunteer Day” at CapitaLand’s Hope Schools in Vietnam, where the company supported the construction and renovation of school buildings. Accompanying the program was Ascott Limited (Ascott), a subsidiary of the CapitaLand Group.

Diep Truong Hoai Ngoc, a fifth grader at CapitaLand Thanh Phuoc Primary Hope School in Long An, said she was very happy to receive the gifts, which were motivation for her to continue furthering her education in the coming years.

Ms. Le Thi Kim Loan, Principal of CapitaLand Thanh Phuoc Primary Hope School, appreciated CapitaLand Vietnam’s efforts in supporting activities for schools and students.

“We believe that a company is not only about its business but also about contributing towards communities and social growth,” said Mr. Wong Chin Hu, General Manager of CapitaLand Vietnam (Southern Vietnam).

“The CapitaLand Volunteer Day is one of our long-term CSR initiatives. Through this initiative, we hope to encourage the spirit of volunteerism in our employees and to contribute towards building a brighter future for students.”

CapitaLand has built and renovated three CapitaLand Hope Schools in Vietnam as well as provided support towards the Hope Schools by offering teaching and learning tools to teachers and students over past years. The company also organizes regular visits, bringing local and international CapitaLand employees to the Hope Schools for volunteering and interacting with students.

Earlier this year, CapitaLand Vietnam also held The Steps Challenge and Mid-Autumn Festival activities in support of the autism community in Vietnam.
