Carriage to be available for viewing and comment before going into production.
A 20-meter long railway carriage similar to the model to be used on the Cat Linh - Ha Dong urban railway line in Hanoi is to be put on display for two months from October 20 at the Giang Vo Exhibition Center, as part of consultations with residents and experts, according to the Hanoi Metropolitan Railway Management Board under the Ministry of Transport.
After collecting comments from citizens and experts the carriage will be re-designed before being officially produced.
Vietnam is to buy 13 trains for the Cat Linh - Ha Dong urban railway from a Chinese manufacturer in Beijing, at a cost of over $63.2 million. Each will consist of four carriages made from stainless steel.
The engine carriage has a wedged design, with the symbol of Khue Van Cac on the front, with “Cat Linh - Ha Dong” appearing underneath.
The elevated railway line is 13 km long with 12 stations. The 13 trains will run at a frequency of about two minutes, with an average speed of 35 km/h.
