Local transport department directs bus operators to install cameras to curb misbehavior among passengers.
The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport asked the Management and Administration Center of Public Passenger Transport on May 28 to cooperate with bus operators in installing cameras on buses .
Details on the number of buses to have cameras must be forwarded to the Department no later than this Sunday, June 1
The Department said that the 1,680 new buses the City’s People’s Committee decided to buy on May 23 must be equipped with cameras, and that any other bus operators increasing their fleet must also have buses equipped with cameras.
The cameras are to help bus operators have better control over passengers, reducing the incidences of theft and other unsavory behavior.
