Star footballer Quang Hai becomes AnEco's brand ambassador

Hai engaged to inspire the young generation to protect the environment.

The An Phat Plastic & Green Environment Company (An Phat Plastic), a member of An Phat Holdings, held a signing ceremony for a cooperation deal with footballer Nguyen Quang Hai, who will become the environmental protection ambassador of AnEco, which produces biodegradable food bags, shopping bags, and garbage bags.

His image is expected to inspire the younger generation to gain awareness of and take practical action to protect the living environment.

Launched in the context of the world being more concerned about finding solutions to minimize plastic waste, AnEco is a completely compostable product, derived from starch and produced by An Phat Holdings since 2015. Three years on, the product has been exported to countries such as the UK, France, and the US.

AnEco was introduced in Vietnam at the end of 2018 and quickly gained favor among consumers. It also represents the enthusiasm of An Phat Plastic and An Phat Holdings in becoming the pioneer in bringing a truly environmentally-friendly product to Vietnam, replacing the usual plastic and disposable plastic bags.

With this vision, choosing Hai as an environmental protection ambassador for the AnEco brand name is one of the activities within a communications strategy to raise awareness and call for action to resolve the problem of plastic waste and protect the living environment.

“After playing football abroad, living in a clean, beautiful environment, I was very impressed and wanted to do something,” Hai said. “I want to protect the environment at home. With An Phat Plastic and AnEco, we found a common voice.”

Hai has called on friends to carry out environmental clean-up activities in Hanoi and to use AnEco compostable bags. He wants to accompany the AnEco brand and share it with everyone, so that people will be determined to act for the environment and choose truly green solutions.

“We believe Quang Hai can influence the dynamic young generation, who are ready to welcome new trends,” said Ms. Nguyen Le Hang, Deputy General Director of An Phat Holdings. “With this cooperation, An Phat Holdings expects to successfully implement communications campaigns to raise awareness among Vietnamese people about the issue of reducing plastic waste, using alternative solutions, and protecting our environment. That is the vision and mission of AnEco in particular and An Phat Holdings in general.”

Hai is among the top ten footballers in Asia, as selected by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). It described him as a creative player with a good sense of space who can make passes that are almost impossible for others. He was also hailed as a spotlight in Vietnam’s young and amazing team.

He was named Most Valuable Player at the AFF Suzuki Cup 2018 for his significant contributions to the Vietnamese team’s victory at the tournament, and is admired for the skills he possesses with his left foot.

He played a major part in Vietnam reaching the final of the AFC U-23 Championship in 2018 and the men’s semi-finals at the Asian Games last August. Vietnam then went on to win the AFF Suzuki Cup last year for just the second time.
