The Toyota Vietnam Foundation (TVF), in cooperation with the National Traffic Safety Committee (NTSC), organized a ceremony granting nine scholarships worth a total of VND405 million ($17,380) to the children of traffic accident victims in northern Lang Son province.

With a desire to join hands with society to relieve the pain and loss caused by traffic accidents to victims’ families, especially children, the TVF and the NTSC have implemented this scholarship program since 2017. Lang Son is the fourth province selected for the meaningful program due to its high rate of deaths and accidents.

The TVF granted scholarships to nine children with the aim of helping them overcome difficulties in life and have the chance to continue going to school, with five years of support in school fees, textbooks, and living costs. TVF has granted scholarships to children in Lao Cai, Dak Lak, and Soc Trang provinces in the past.

“The program has received positive reviews from the community since its beginning,” said Ms. Do Thu Hoang, Chairman of the TVF and Vice President of Toyota Motor Vietnam. “We expect all of us to raise awareness about traffic safety and contribute to building a better traffic safety culture for a safer and happier Vietnam.”

From the outset, the TVF has continuously contributed to society with a philosophy of “bringing a better life to the local community” through a series of social contributions in the fields of Traffic Safety, the Environment, Education-Training & Human Resources Development, and Healthcare, in which Traffic Safety is considered the top priority. Besides this program in Traffic Safety, the TVF also carries out other meaningful programs that contribute to improve traffic safety and cutting the number of accidents and fatalities in Vietnam.
