CAAV seeking explanation from Singaporean authorities.
Many Vietnamese tourists, mostly women, were recently denied entry to Singapore for no apparent reason.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) has asked the Ministry of Transport to help it seek clarification from related agencies in Singapore.
Airlines operating flights between Vietnam and Singapore said that some of their passengers have not been able to enter the country despite presenting all the necessary documents.
Since carriers are obliged to bring these passengers back to Vietnam, the issue has caused extra cost and trouble for both passengers and the airlines, CAAV said.
CAAV also sent a letter to the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore, asking it and Singapore’s immigration authorities to provide relevant airlines with lists of Vietnamese who are not encouraged to visit the country.
Vietnamese nationals can visit Singapore for 30 days without a visa.
