The Vietnam Business Summit 2018 (VBS 2018) expects to welcome 1,200 enterprises, including domestic and international enterprises, Mr. Vu Tien Loc, Chairman of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), told a press briefing on August 30.

With the theme “Vietnam - Trusted Business Partner: Connecting & Creativity”, the summit is expected to include enterprises from the US, Japan, South Korea, and ASEAN, foreign business associations in Vietnam, and representatives from embassies, diplomatic missions, economic organizations, and international organizations.

The summit is being held within the framework of the World Economic Forum on ASEAN (WEF ASEAN) 2018 held in Hanoi in September. VBS 2018 will take place on the afternoon of September 13 and be chaired by VCCI.

It will focus on Vietnam’s role in the regional and global value chain and introduce its policy environment and investment and business opportunities, especially in the areas of finance and infrastructure.

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and WEF President Borge Brende will deliver keynote addresses during the opening session and hold dialogues with the business community discussing Vietnam’s role in ASEAN and global value chains.

The second session will focus on introducing new business opportunities in Vietnam, with the participation of leaders from ministries, finance ministers, transport ministers, international organizations, and enterprises.

VBS 2018 will provide an overview of the economic situation, investment opportunities and business in key areas of Vietnam, and link potential partners for cooperation and investment.

This is an opportunity for local and foreign enterprises to connect directly with leading business leaders in the ASEAN region and the world, receive updates on Vietnam’s economy in the global value chain and ASEAN, explore new business opportunities in key areas of investment attraction and international cooperation in Vietnam, and exchange of opportunities and investment experience.

This is the second holding of the VBS, following the first in November last year on the sidelines of the APEC 2017 Summit in Da Nang.
