The Hanoi People’s Committee has promulgated a dispatch to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) to expedite a project involving the creation of agro-ecological zones with high-tech applications.

Located along the Duong River in the Dong Anh district on the outskirts of Hanoi, the project is christened Hoa Lam Vien, and will spread across an area of 96ha divided into 39 plots of land. The project has a total investment capital of nearly VND300 billion ($13.6 million) with major investment by Binh Phat Co.

The aim of the project is to build a functional area to develop ecological agriculture to enhance the riverside. A further goal is to develop and implement advanced technology as well as bring scientific and technical progress to farmers, contributing to the industrialization and modernization of the agricultural sector.

The architecture and planning of the agricultural zones fits with Hanoi’s overall planning which has previously been approved by the government. The project will connect to other residential areas with the aim of creating a green space in the north of Hanoi.
