MoF releases list of enterprises nationwide that have failed to fulfill their tax obligations.
The Ministry of Finance (MoF) has announced it will apply coercive measures such as freezing bank accounts and voiding bills exchanged with business partners.
The announcement was made after MoF released a list of 600 enterprises nationwide with major tax arrears, totaling more than VND12.6 trillion ($579.6 million). It plans to adopt a number of measures to force enterprises to meet their obligations.
Hanoi topped the list, with 200 enterprises owing up to VND4.67 trillion ($214.8 million), followed by Ho Chi Minh City, with around 200 enterprises owing VND3.5 trillion ($161 million).
The two cities account for 65 per cent of tax arrears. Can Tho, Binh Duong, Long An, Soc Trang, Vung Tau, and Binh Thuan provinces had enterprises with tax arrears exceeding VND200 billion ($9.2 million) in total.
