Plant has total investment of $1.87 billion and a capacity of 1,200 MW.
Construction began on the Hai Duong-Vietnam Thermal Power Plant in northern Hai Duong province under the build-operate-transfer (BOT) mode on March 27, with total investment capital of $1.87 billion.
The project is co-invested by Malaysia’s Jaks Resources Bhd and the China Power Engineering Consulting Group Co., Ltd. (CPECC).
The thermal power plant has a total area of 199 ha and will be able to general 1,200 MW. It is being built by the Southwest Electric Power Design Institute Co., Ltd. and the China Power Engineering Consulting Group International Engineering Co., Ltd.
Spanning three communes, Phuc Thanh, Quang Trung, and Le Ninh, in Kinh Mon district, the plant will be transferred to Vietnam after 25 years.
It is expected the plant will operate Unit 1 in December 2019 and Unit 2 in June 2020.
