HCMC export turnover up in Q1

Quarterly figure in southern hub bolstered by considerable month-on-month increase in March.

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Customs has put the city’s total exports in the first quarter at $8.413 billion, an increase of 9.91 per cent compared to the first quarter of last year.

Total export and import turnover for March was $6.68 billion, a significant rise of 40.62 per cent against February, of which export turnover stood at $3.203 billion, an impressive 40.18 per cent higher.

Export-import turnover for the first quarter reached $17.497 billion, an increase of 7.49 per cent quarter-on-quarter, with import turnover standing at $9.084 billion, up 5.34 per cent.
