Approval given for helipad on roof of Hanoi hospital.
The Hanoi People’s Committee, the Ministry of Defense (MoD), the Ministry of Public Security (MPS), and the Ministry of Construction (MoC) have approved the building of a helipad on the roof of Bach Mai Hospital, which can cater to helicopters bringing in emergency cases and serve the healthcare needs of senior Party and government leaders as well as ordinary citizens.
The helipad will cost VND1.3 trillion ($60.4 million), funded by the State budget and government bonds.
According to Mr. Nguyen Quoc Anh, Director of Bach Mai Hospital, the project needs guidance on flight routes and processes from MoD before it is put into operation.
MoC had previously proposed changing the hospital’s architecture so a helipad could be built.
