Golden Dragon Awards and Vietnamese Excellent Brand Awards to be held on March 21.
The Golden Dragon Awards and the Vietnamese Excellent Brand Awards will be held at the Hanoi Opera House on March 21. The theme for the event is “Creating a Fair and Transparent Business Environment” and the awards ceremony will be broadcast live on VTV1. In attendance will be Vietnamese government leaders, representatives from ministries, economic experts, and more than 500 CEOs from foreign-invested enterprises (FIEs) and Vietnamese enterprises.
The organizer, Vietnam Economic Times, will present 71 FIEs with a Golden Dragon Award and 95 Vietnamese enterprises with a Vietnamese Excellent Brand Award this year. These enterprises have been honored for their solid growth and development results as well as their efforts to overcome the ongoing economic difficulties. They also have strategic plans to improve their competitiveness in terms of human resources, technology, quality and service, to enable them to actively seize opportunities and face the challenges posed by international economic integration.
Many enterprises have been winners of Golden Dragon Awards for a number of years in succession, such as Samsung Vietnam, Chinfon Cement, HSBC, Deloitte Vietnam, Mercedes-Benz Vietnam, and Zamil Steel Vietnam. In the Vietnamese Excellent Brand awards, winners in successive years include Vietinbank, the Saigon Jewelry Company, Vietcombank, Vingroup, the Thaco Group, the Doji Group, Vinamilk, and the Hoa Sen (Lotus) Group.
Within the framework of the event there will be the CEO forum entitled “Creating a Fair and Transparent Business Environment”, at the JW Marriott Hanoi at 3pm on March 20, with the participation of Vietnamese leaders, international organizations, experts, and more than 300 CEOs. The topic is receiving significant attention from policy makers, economic experts, and the business community, with the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) to be established by December 31, along with trade agreements both signed and still under negotiation.
Dr. Vu Dinh Hoe, Head of the Organizing Board, said: “This year’s program will be a place for firms to share their business experience. It is also a place for them to raise their voices, so they are heard by policy makers.” The government will then be able help to enhance the competitive capacity of enterprises and the country, according to Dr. Hoe.
The Golden Dragon Awards and the Vietnam Excellent Brand Awards were initiated in 2001 to recognize and encourage enterprises that have recorded outstanding achievements. This recognition is considered from many perspectives, such as production and business activities, service provision, application of technological solutions for environmental protection, full implementation of tax obligations, ensuring employee rights, and actively participating in social activities.
