The university promises provide an international standard educational environment for Vietnam's students.
The British University Vietnam (BUV) will invest $70 million to build a university in the Ecopark urban area of Van Giang district.
The project is divided into three investments periods, of which the first will begin on May 5 with an investment of $20 million and is expected to be completed in 2017.
After this initial stage, the university will receive 1,200 students and provide them with world class teaching and learning facilities, an international faculty and a world recognized degrees.
In a meeting with leaders of Hung Yen People's Committee, Mr. Jesse Boone, General Director of BUV, said that after completion the university will host about 8,000 students. "Designed to international standard, BUV will have a complex for sports and entertainment, and the desire to create a dynamic learning environment for students, encourage discovery, develop research capacity and understanding of science," Said Mr. Boone. "The BUV in Ecopark promises to bring a new educational choice for Vietnamese students."
BUV was established by Prime Ministerial decree in 2009 and has been in operation for over 4 years, with three groups of students graduating, 35 of whom have achieved a first class degree and 100 per cent gaining full employment/masters acceptance.
