The cooperation between the two parties is to be implemented from now to 2020 in six fields: infrastructure development; IT application in provincial e-government; IT application in tourism and planning; IT application in education, healthcare, transport, agriculture, e-commerce and industry; training and development of IT human resources; and solutions for information security network safety and intellectual property issues.

In the field of education, Microsoft Vietnam will offer cloud computing solutions within the free Microsoft Office 365 for Education to schools and educational institutions at all levels.
It will also offer programs at preferential fees for preschool and high school and training programs for IT teaching at schools.

In planning, its will coordinate database optimization through Big Data technology and build Datawarehouse and intelligent analysis (Power BI) applications for urban planning development.

In the field of e-government, modern office environments will be built for public servants through the Office 365 solutions package and related technology options.

To enhance information and network security, Microsoft will provide consultancy and coordination in building an information security system throughout the province and create IT development funds for training. The Provincial People’s Committee will direct the Department of Information and Communications and related agencies to work out a roadmap and solutions to upgrade the operating system of computers at State agencies and provide the copyright for the authentication system. A portal based on Microsoft solutions will also be used. The province will also attempt to raise awareness about software copyright issues.

According to Mr. Vu Minh Tri, Country Manager of Microsoft Vietnam, Nha Trang has strong tourism development but the application of IT in the sector remains limited. Microsoft will therefore release smart travel applications through Big Data and Power BI technology to improve service quality for tourists and raise provincial budget revenue. At the same time, it will build a specialized technical center focusing on security for smart urban infrastructure systems in the city.

Mr. Le Duc Vinh, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, said that building Nha Trang into a smart city is an important target of Khanh Hoa province and it expects the cooperation with Microsoft Vietnam will help it successfully achieve the target.
