Meeting with owner of NASDAQ stock exchange hears calls for continued cooperation.
Headed by Minister of Finance Dinh Tien Dung, a delegation promoting US investment in Vietnam visited NASDAQ OMX, which owns and operates the NASDAQ stock market, on July 2, and was welcomed by its General Director Bob Greifeld.
Minister Dung said that meetings held between the Ministry of Finance (MoF) and US investors were aimed at strengthening relations with US partners for mutual benefit and the development of the two countries.
He also expressed a hope that NASDAQ OMX and Vietnam’s stock exchanges would continue to cooperate, especially in using and managing technology and providing favorable conditions to investors of the two countries, under a memorandum of understanding.
NASDAQ OMX spoke about solutions and strategies to develop financial systems and applying technology in management to ensure security and protect the investment. It also gave an evaluation of trends in US and global financial markets, as well as providing recommendation for stronger cooperation between NASDAQ OMX and Vietnam’s stock exchanges.
