Legislature to discuss a range of key issues and study and approve a raft of new and amended laws at session lasting until June 26.
The 9th session of National Assembly (NA) XIII officially opened at Ba Dinh Hall in Hanoi this morning and will last until June 26.
After NA Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung delivers his opening remarks, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc will present a report on the results of the socio-economic development plan and State budget in 2014 and their implementation in the opening months of this year.
The Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Nguyen Thien Nhan will then present a report with comments and recommendations on these matters, followed by the Chairman of the NA’s Economic Committee Nguyen Van Giau presenting an additional evaluation.
It is expected that eleven draft laws will be approved during the session, many of which will have major a impact on the country’s development and the life of its citizens, such as the amended Law on Government Organization, the amended Law on the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the Law on Local Government, the Law on National Assembly and People’s Council Elections, the Law on State Audit, and the Law on the Promulgation of Legal Documents.
Fifteen other important draft laws also will be examined and comments sought, such as the amended Civil Law, the amended Civil Procedure Law, the amended Criminal Law, and the Law on the Supervision of National Assembly and People’s Councils.
Regarding socio-economic issues, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, on behalf of the Prime Minister, will evaluate the results of socio-economic implementation in 2014 and development plans in 2015.
