Successful trial at Hai Phong Port sees National Single Window for customs procedures introduced at all seaports in Vietnam.
Mr. Nguyen Tran Hieu, Deputy Director General of the Department of Customs IT & Statistics at Vietnam Customs said that following the trial of the National Single Window (NSW) system at Hai Phong Port from December 11, 2014 it will be officially implemented at all international seaports in Vietnam from today.
About 2,000 enterprises are expected to be access the NSW, including shipping lines, shipping agents, and carriers.
Vietnam Customs, in collaboration with the Vietnam Maritime Administration at the Ministry of Transport, has organized training sessions on processes for businesses and authorities in five localities with international seaports: Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City, and Ba Ria Vung Tau.
From 9am on May 6, transport enterprises and carriers can declare their shipping procedures and an e-manifest of cargo through the official portal of Vietnam NSW.
According to Vietnam Customs the NSW will allow for administrative procedures at seaports to be conducted in a more straightforward manner. Carriers and agents need only report information to the portal and the information is then sent to related ministries and agencies. Ministries and agencies then process the information and post the results back on the portal.
